In the newspaper

For you who understand Swedish, here's an article about our guest mr. James McGilligan, published today in the local newspaper.

Solar cooking

Mr. James McGilligan left us yesterday evening to participate in the yearly book fair. He has given lectures at the high school and I was deeply impressed by the advantages of solar cooking: the women don't get smoke in their eyes; they don't have to walk for miles to collect wood in the forest where they often are harrassed by forestworkers and last but not least: for the first time in Indian history men get interested in cooking! Equally impressed I was by the recyclingpractices at the Barli Institute even to the last scraps. The girls of the school collect their hair from their hairbrushes every morning to make paintbrushes from it later on!

A parabolic solar cooker?

Yes, they do excists. In the village of Temla, India, for instance. Mr. James McGilligan, the manufacturer, and his wife dr. Janak McGilligan, are travelling through Sweden to lead seminars about the Indian Barli project, which combats poverty through the development of women. Mr. McGilligan will arrive in our Swedish town on monday, to give lessons at the local high school.

Why do we have ears?

"Know thou that the ear of man hath been created that it may hearken unto the Divine Voice on this Day that hath been mentioned in all the Books, Scriptures, and Tablets."

Bahá'u'lláh in The Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, p. 2

To say it very simply: our ears are created to listen to the Word of God for our time. This weekend I participated in an institutional meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, where plans were made to make the Word of God of our time known to humankind. Everybody has the right to know what God wants of the world today and to join His most great plan. All Bahá'í Scriptures and Scriptures of all other worldreligions can be loaded down from the homepage of Ocean.
