Fairytale

We are preparing to leave for Czechia! Czechia is one of our many family-countries: my husband and I met each other in the eastern town of Olomouc some dark November many years ago. We will visit Prague for some days and then travel on to Hluboka where our daughter will participate in the 10-day course 'Transformation for Peace'. The rest of the family will among many other activities visit the fairytale-like castle just beside the school.

Visitors from far

Last sunday we enjoyed visitors from Florida for lunch: an elderly man who has his roots in our town in Sweden together with a young lady who helped him. In spite of our still unorganized home (we moved in our house some months ago) we all had a great time and we were reminded of the fact how nice it is to communicate and to be around people. Like somebody said to me many years ago: "There are no strangers, only friends that you haven't met yet." So true.

Martyrdom of the Báb

Next sunday the Bahá'ís commemorate the martyrdom of the Báb. The Báb (1819-1850) told the world that a new time had come. Because of this statement the leaders of His country, Persia, let Him be executed on the 9th of July 1950 in Tabríz against this wall:

Miraculously He and a young follower survived the 750 bullets by the first firesquad after which the execution was accomplished by a new squad. 60 Years later the Báb and His follower could be burried in Haifa, Israel, where later a beautiful mausoleum was built (see a 5-minute flashshow).
Our family will commemorate this day at the Bahá'í summerschool in Kungälv, Sweden.

Ruhi courses

My husband and our children are in the town of Lund. My husband attends a devotional meeting on the theme of 'Unity', our son his childrens class and our 12-year-old daughter a so-called Ruhi-course. For everyone who has a connection with the Bahá'í Faith the concept 'Ruhi' is very common, while others might raise their eyebrows. It's a series of study-circles where a small group of people studies subjects like: the life of the spirit; arrising to serve and the latest Manifestations of God. These courses have spread across the whole world and are open to everyone.
