Bahá'í Media Bank

A new website with more than 2500 bahá'í related pictures for everybody to use has been launched.

Childrens Class

Our son (8) will go the Bahá'í childrens class in the town of Lund next sunday. We join childrens classes whereever they are held within a span of 300 km. It's some months ago now that both of our children went to the classes in Göteborg (picture). But even though they only can join now and then we notice that our children grow spiritually by doing so. For us it is not only important that our children become strong and selfconfident but also that they know what things are good or bad to do and in what way religion can help them in solving their problems.

Bramborak

This summer our daughter will participate in a course called Transformation for Peace in Hluboka (pronounced Luboka) in the Czech Republik.

To get into the mood I made a typical Czech dish called bramborak. I found the recipe on the Internet. It was delicious and the bramborak dissapeared fast.

Radio Programme

We just happened to have the radio on when they broadcasted an interview about persecutions of Bahá'ís in Iran. Recently 54 Bahá'í youth were taken by police and imprisoned for no other reason than that they were Bahá'ís. 51 of them are now released after they've payed a large sum of money. 3 are still in prison. You can read more about this here .

Newspaper Article

The local newspaper published a column that I wrote some time ago. The column is called 'Weekend Thoughts' and up till now only Christians (mainly priests) had space on this page. The time had come that the newspaper wanted also other religions to give their views and they had asked me to write something with a Bahá'í background now and then. The main thought in my article was that all religions originally come from the same God, Who when He thinks it is time sends us Manifestations of Himself (like Adam, Moses, Krishna, Buddha, Christ, Mohammed and Bahá'u'lláh). Our task as humans is to find the religion of God for the time we happen to live in.

Bahá'í Holy Days

Yesterday was a Holy Day for the Bahá'ís. We have nine Holy Days per year. We suspend work or school on such a special day on which we commemorate a special happening in the history of our Faith.

We in our family are the only Bahá'ís in our town. Often we have a commemoration by ourselves, we might travel to another community if the times are fitting with the traintimes, or we do something else like visiting somebody or inviting people to our home.

We are also encouraged to start something new on a Holy Day and yesterday I started this blog.

The Passing of Bahá'u'lláh

Our family commemorated the Passing of Bahá'u'lláh: the children prepared a nice programme on the theme Independent Search for Truth. They used prayers, a story by Hans Christian Andersen and made drawings on the theme.
